How to make an exact-size passport photo with OnyxPDF
- Drop a straight-on portrait photo into the tool.
- Choose the size: 35×45 mm or 2×2 inch.
- Drag and zoom so your face fits the guide oval — head and shoulders, centred.
- Download the single exact-size photo, and the 4R print sheet if you are printing.
Why do it in your browser instead of uploading?
- Exact pixels, guaranteed: 413×531 or 600×600 — the sizes portals and photo studios actually require.
- The print sheet (1200×1800, six copies) turns one home print into a set of ID photos for the price of one 4R print.
- Face-guide overlay lines up eyes and chin the way official specs describe.
- Your portrait — the most personal photo you own — is never uploaded to a photo-maker site.
Good to know (honest limits)
- Official acceptance also depends on the photo itself: plain expression, eyes open, no shadows, no head coverings except religious ones, taken recently. The tool guarantees size, background fill and layout — it cannot fix a badly lit original.
- Always check your specific portal’s current spec (some cap file size too — if so, run the result through Compress Image’s exact-KB mode).
- Background fill is a flat colour behind the cut-out region you frame; it is not AI background replacement.
Frequently asked questions
What is the passport photo size in pixels?
35×45 mm at 300 DPI is 413×531 px — used for Pakistan CNIC/passport and Schengen visas. The US visa (DS-160) size is 2×2 inches = 600×600 px minimum. This tool outputs both exactly.
The portal says my photo must be under 200 KB / 240 KB — what then?
Download the photo here, then use Compress Image’s “Compress to exact KB” mode with your portal’s limit. The two tools are designed to chain.
Can I print the sheet at a shop?
Yes — the 4R sheet is a standard 1200×1800 px (4×6 inch at 300 DPI) image with six copies laid out with cut margins. Any photo shop can print it as a normal 4R photo.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Framing and output happen in your browser — your portrait never leaves your device.
